A Captivating Exploration Ponders over a Captain America Character with Bleeding Capabilities
Hype Gets Real for Anthony Mackie's Captain America
After The Falcon and the Winter Soldier wrapped up in 2021, we've had a bit of a breather from Marvel's Captain America. But, don't fret, Anthony Mackie's Captain America is back, front and center, in Captain America: Brave New World, set to hit theaters in 2025.
While the hype for Deadpool and Wolverine is at an all-time high, Marvel ain't letting ol' Cap fade into the background. In fact, they're giving us a sneak peek at Sam Wilson's new getup as he takes the mantle as Captain America full-time. Check it out over at Empire Magazine.
Director Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) also spilled some beans about the movie, sharing that Brave New World will delve into the fact that Sam is just a regular ol' human, despite his badass military background and access to some sci-fi-level tech. Onah said, "The action in this movie is incredibly exciting because this is a guy who can break, this is a guy who can bleed." In essence, we'll get to witness a grueling, sweaty Sam working his way to the limit.
A tiny tidbit about the plot was dropped—Sam will find himself squaring off against Tim Blake Nelson's Samual Sterns, aka the Leader. Sterns has some superpowers thanks to a little cross-contamination with Bruce Banner's Incredible Hulk gene. According to Onah, Sam will be juggling keeping Sterns in check and balancing what the government owes him.
So, mark your calendars for Captain America: Brave New World, dropping in theaters on Valentine's Day, 2025.
