Aerospace Giants Win JEC World Award for Automated Fuselage Production
A groundbreaking collaboration between LOOP Technology GmbH, Airbus, and Premium Aerotec has been recognised with the prestigious JEC World Innovation Award in Paris. The joint manufacturing project, an automated sheet metal manufacturing solution for aircraft fuselages, has also been nominated as a finalist for the CAMX 2025 Award in the USA.
The innovative project, centred around automating the production of aircraft fuselages from composite materials, has garnered significant attention. LOOP Technology, a specialist in automation and robotics, partnered with Airbus for application and integration, and Premium Aerotec for final production. This collaboration demonstrates how cutting-edge automation solutions can revolutionise future manufacturing processes in the aerospace industry.
In a separate development, Zünd, in collaboration with LOOP Technology, has been shortlisted for the Composites UK Industry Awards 2025 in the Innovation in Manufacture category. The nomination recognises Zünd's largest cutter to date, working in tandem with the world's largest industrial robot, through the integration of Zünd's Aero Q-Line digital cutting system with LOOP Technology's automated high-rate composite preforming system, FibreLINE. The winners will be announced at the annual Awards Dinner on October 29, 2025. The combined solution delivers a breakthrough in speed, precision, and automation for composite manufacturing. FibreLINE has already won the JEC Awards in Paris and been selected as a finalist for the CAMX 2025 Awards in the US.
These recognitions highlight the significant advancements in automated manufacturing technologies for composite materials in the aerospace industry. LOOP Technology's innovations, in collaboration with leading industry partners, are driving progress and setting new standards in composite manufacturing.
