Air Liquide Invests $50M to Boost US Hydrogen Infrastructure
Air Liquide, a global leader in gases, technologies, and services for Industry and Health, is investing $50 million to upgrade its hydrogen infrastructure in the United States. This move will strengthen its footprint in Texas and expand its pipeline capacity, integrating new distribution systems.
Air Liquide's Gulf Coast network, which stretches over 700km, will see improvements. This network is connected to the world's largest hydrogen cavern in Spindletop, Texas, operated by the company since 2017. The upgrade is part of newly signed hydrogen supply deals with two major US refiners.
The investment will not only enhance Air Liquide's existing infrastructure but also support the growth of the hydrogen economy in the region. The company has already secured supply agreements with two of the largest refineries in the United States, demonstrating its commitment to the sector.
