In the world of dark electro music, Unter Null, the solo project of Erica Dunham, continues to make waves. After the worldwide success of the "Sick Fuck EP" and the recent launch of the "You Made A Monster EP", fans can anticipate a new Unter Null album sometime after mid-2025.

The latest release, "You Made A Monster EP", was unveiled on July 25, 2025, and features the comeback single “Coming Up to Breathe”. This EP marks a significant creative resurgence for Unter Null and serves as a prelude to the forthcoming full-length album.

Erica Dunham, trained in classical piano, cello, and guitar, initiated Unter Null at the age of 17 in Seattle, Washington. The project, established in 1998, has seen several milestones over the years, including the self-released debut album in 2001 and the signing with the Belgian label Alfa Matrix in 2005.

The upcoming album is expected to follow the 2025 EP, but without a confirmed title or official release date as of August 2025. This new development in the Unter Null discography is particularly noteworthy as it marks the first official collaboration between Erica Dunham and another artist since the establishment of Unter Null in 1998.

In a departure from her solo project's typical sound, Erica Dunham collaborated with the Los Angeles-based dark electro trio Frontal Boundary on the single "Hollow", released on March 29, 2025. The single, a dark electro track reflecting Frontal Boundary's musical style, was released independently, without a label.

The collaboration between Erica Dunham and Frontal Boundary is not the only significant event in Unter Null's history. In 2008, a fire destroyed Dunham's studio, resulting in the loss of musical equipment and recordings. However, tracks for the upcoming album were recovered from a damaged hard drive, offering a glimmer of hope for fans eagerly awaiting new music.

"The Failure Epiphany", an album by Unter Null, had an immediate impact and became one of Alfa Matrix's best-selling records. Erica Dunham returned to the studio in 2025 to record new material for the upcoming album, ensuring that fans can look forward to more of her unique dark electro sound.

Meanwhile, Erica Dunham's side project, Stray, offers a different musical experience. With a more melodic and introspective sound, Stray provides a contrast to the darker tones of Unter Null.

As we look forward to the new Unter Null album, it's clear that Erica Dunham's musical journey is far from over. With her classical training, innovative sound, and resilience in the face of adversity, she continues to push boundaries in the dark electro genre.

Technology played a crucial role in the recovery of tracks for Unter Null's upcoming album, as data from a damaged hard drive was successfully retrieved. In the realm of entertainment, Erica Dunham's collaboration with Los Angeles-based dark electro trio Frontal Boundary on the single "Hollow" showcased a unique fusion of their respective music styles, offering fans a glimpse into diverse avenues in music exploration.
