In a recent article published on our website, author Michael Kozlowski delves into the unique features of the Kindle Oasis 3, a premium e-reader from Amazon. One standout feature of the Kindle Oasis 3 is its front-lit display and color temperature system.

The color temperature system in the Kindle Oasis 3 is designed to adjust the screen's lighting tone by blending orange (warm) and white LED lights in the front-lit display. This system allows readers to shift the screen's color temperature from a cooler white light to a warmer amber tone, which can be more comfortable for reading in different lighting conditions, especially at night.

The Kindle Oasis 3 uses a combination of white and orange LEDs to create adjustable color temperatures. Users can manually control the warmth of the light using a slider in the settings, similar to how brightness is adjusted. The device can also auto-adjust the color temperature and brightness automatically based on ambient light sensors located near the page-turn buttons. Additionally, the system can adjust according to the current time of day and timezone, shifting the light warmer in the evening to reduce blue light exposure and potentially aid with reading comfort and sleep.

The Kindle Oasis 3 is only available in a specific configuration - the 4G/LTE with WIFI model. It comes in a 32GB version, and unfortunately, there is no 8GB model available. The device boasts a 7-inch E Ink Carta HD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1680 x 1264 and a 300 PPI pixel density. It is powered by a Freescale/NXP IMX7 dual-core 1 GHz processor.

The Kindle Oasis 3 retains the two manual page-turn buttons on the right side of the screen, a feature appreciated by many readers. Interestingly, the most expensive model of the Kindle Oasis 3 retails for $429.99.

Michael Kozlowski, the author of the article, has been writing about audiobooks, e-books, and e-readers for 18 years. He currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

In a surprising turn of events, Amazon Canada has recently announced new old stock of the Kindle Oasis 3, making it available once again for those who missed out on its initial release in 2019.
