APM Terminals Pipavav Sets Record in January, Honda Elevate Sales Surge

APM Terminals Pipavav has set a new record in January, unloading 26 modified goods rakes for finished vehicle transport, while Honda Cars India celebrates 30,000 units sold of the Elevate in India since its launch.

APM Terminals Pipavav, in collaboration with Suzuki, has been instrumental in exporting Elevate models from India to Japan. The terminal managed to handle a record 2,602 vehicles in January, supporting its decarbonisation efforts and reducing road congestion. This feat was achieved through the use of 26 newly modified goods rakes specifically designed for finished vehicle transport.

Takuya Tsumura, president and CEO of Honda Cars India, expressed pride in the launch of the Elevate in Japan. The made-in-India Elevate has been introduced as the WR-V in the Japanese market. The Elevate has become a key pillar of Honda's business in India, with 90% local sourcing of parts and materials. Honda is not only focusing on the domestic market but also exporting models to various left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive markets worldwide, including Turkey, Mexico, the Middle East, Nepal, Bhutan, South Africa, and SADC countries.

APM Terminals Pipavav's record-breaking performance in January, along with Honda Cars India's successful launch and export of the Elevate, demonstrates the growing collaboration between these companies and the potential for further growth in the automotive sector.
