Apple Introduces Expanded Apple Fitness+ Offering for iPhone, Including More Strength Training, Yoga Sessions, and Pickleball Workouts
Apple hasunveiled the fresh content lined up for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV in 2025. The popular Time to Walk app on the Watch is set to release new episodes, while a workshop-style yoga program and a partnership with Strava are in store as surprises.
Apple Fitness+, launched about four years ago, is all about making exercise accessible to people from all confidence levels with its "Everybody welcome" attitude. The sessions, filmed in Apple's multi-million dollar Apple Fitness Studios in California, offer high-quality video content. They can be watched on various devices like iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, and the heart rate data gathered from Apple Watch displays on the screen.
In addition to the existing exercise types, ranging from HIIT to dance, meditation, and yoga, a progressive strength training program will be introduced this year. This new three-week course will aid users in building and maintaining strength by targeting major muscle groups through half-hour workshops.
Pickleball-inspired exercises, called Strength, Endurance, and Agility for Pickleball, will also be available, guided by Catherine Parenteau, a world-ranking pickleball player. The workout sessions will feature exercises inspired by Parenteau's personal training regimen.
For those seeking a more challenging yoga practice, Yoga Peak Poses will be a welcome addition. Apple ensures that every session caters to every fitness level, and if you find the main trainer too intense, there's always a gentler alternative available.
Fans of more concentrated practice in specific disciplines will appreciate new sessions focusing on individual poses, such as Dancer, Twisted Hand to Big Toe, and Crow, to help build confidence.
Breath Meditation will see five 10-minute meditations added to the platform, including ocean breathing. Artist Spotlights will continue, featuring workout playlists from renowned artists like Janet Jackson, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars.
An exclusive Apple Watch strand, Time to Walk, will offer new episodes starting January 13, 2025. These intimate listens allow people to share a bit about their life and choose three meaningful tracks. Upcoming guests include actor Adam Scott, Tiffany Haddish, and Rita Ora.
A collaboration with Strava will also take place, providing a more detailed integration between the two platforms. Sharing a Fitness+ workout to Strava will now display episode number, image, trainer name, and metrics.
Lastly, a new Apple Watch limited-edition award will be introduced. Close all three Activity Rings for seven consecutive days to earn this prestigious achievement.
Apple Fitness+ aims to remain a pioneer in health and fitness with something for everyone. The new content will be rolled out starting January 6, 2025.
Apple Fitness+ is also introducing 'Apple Yoga' and 'Apple Fitness' as new workout categories, utilizing innovative technology to enhance the user's yoga practice with their iPhone or Apple Watch. The 'best yoga' sessions will offer personalized guidance, assisting users in mastering advanced poses like 'Dancer' and 'Crow'.
For those using an iPhone to participate in the fitness programs, they'll be pleased to know that Apple Fitness+ will offer an 'Apple Fitness Plus' app, making it easier to access the various workout options and track progress.
Moreover, fitness enthusiasts looking to incorporate pickleball into their routines can enjoy 'Pickleball Workouts' guided by professional Catherine Parenteau, covering Strength, Endurance, and Agility training.
In line with their commitment to offering diverse fitness options, Apple is incorporating pickleball-inspired exercises like Strength, Endurance, and Agility for Pickleball into their platform, catering to a wider range of fitness interests.
