Artificial Intelligence Transforms the Workplace and Economy During Cloud Entrepreneur Day 2025

In Bonn, the 12th Cloud Entrepreneur Day was held on January 30, 2025, drawing over 700 attendees seeking insights into the transformative effect of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on work and business life. Hosted by Scopevisio AG, the event featured a series of keynotes, speeches, and practical demonstrations tailored to various industries.

"The Age of AI" was a central theme, with Thorsten Kranz, DHL Group's Head of AI, delivering a keynote address outlining AI's widespread influence on society, economy, and businesses. Kranz envisioned generative AI as a significant innovation of the decade, capable of revolutionizing personal and professional lives while spawning greater disruptions. He discussed the progression from specialized AI to general artificial intelligence (AGI), which would handle broader task fields.

According to Kranz, the age of AI will be inevitable across industries. He emphasized the importance of sharing knowledge and developing ideas, encouraging SMEs to prepare for the future. "As entrepreneurs, we're not battling AI, but companies better at using AI," he said.

Dr. Jörg Haas, CEO of Scopevisio AG, highlighted the need for companies to develop future-proof IT infrastructures and streamline processes to support AI implementation. Many SMEs employ proprietary systems and heterogeneous landscapes, leading to data silos that hinder AI adoption. Haas suggested that a holistic business solution like Scopevisio, with its AI-integrated software, would be ideally suited for integrating AI.

Practical examples showcased how AI could significantly boost productivity in commercial business processes. The Scopevisio team provided instances from various sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, and services, demonstrating the automation of numerous interconnected subprocesses in areas like financial accounting, procurement, and project management.

For future AI integration, Scopevisio plans to develop a language bot based on generative AI, currently in the beta phase. This AI assistant will be capable of understanding, processing, and generating natural language while drawing upon a user company's own data. Access management ensures that individuals receive only the information they are authorized to access.

The afternoon session of the event featured themes on AI and automation, discussions at industry booths, and opportunities for networking and idea exchange. The event, one of the largest digitalization events in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), brings together business owners, digital experts, and IT department heads of medium-sized companies each year for knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and brainstorming sessions.
