Asics Unveils Unique Gel-Cumulus 16 Tomo Sneaker Collaboration Involving Seven Retail Partners

Asics has introduced a distinctive sneaker collaboration, the Gel-Cumulus 16 Tomo, involving seven retail partners. This project transcends typical sneaker collaborations, which usually involve just two brands.

The Gel-Cumulus 16 Tomo showcases a striking mood ring gradient theme, with reflective mesh and gradient colors on the tiger stripe branding and midsole Gel cushioning. It comes with alternate gradient fade shoelaces and metal lace tips. The sneaker is priced at $170 and is available from asics.com and the seven participating retail partners: Concepts, Extra Butter, Feature, Lapstone & Hammer, Sneaker Politics, Somewhere, and The Whitaker Group.

The collaboration commenced when Asics invited these boutiques to Boston to co-design the sneaker together. The company emphasized a collective vision, rather than individual input, underscoring the deep spirit of partnership in the industry. Asics hopes this project, named after the Japanese word 'Tomo' meaning friend, will highlight the bonds within the athletic footwear space and celebrate the camaraderie among the stores.
