At Tuesday's "jaw-dropping" unveiling, Apple showcased an array of fresh offerings, including the iPhone 17, the iPhone Air, and updated AirPods, equipped with real-time translation capabilities. Here's a rundown of the essential details.
Apple held its biggest launch event of the year with the tagline 'Awe Dropping,' where it introduced the next generation of iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of the iPhone 17, Apple Watch Series 11, and AirPods Pro 3.
Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, stated, 'We're taking the biggest leap ever for iPhone.'
The iPhone 17 Pro is claimed to be the most powerful iPhone yet, with a unified outer body that uniformly dissipates heat from the battery. It also offers 'the best battery life ever in an iPhone,' with 39 hours of video playback.
Apple is also focusing on improving the camera capabilities of the iPhone. The iPhone cameras are seeing an upgrade, with better resolution and a wide field of view for the front-facing camera.
In the wearable tech segment, Apple introduced the Apple Watch Ultra 3, priced at $399. This watch comes with a thorough list of health features, including state-of-mind tracking for mental health. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 also features satellite connectivity, allowing users to get help in case of an emergency even when off the grid. It is worth noting that the manufacturer of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is Apple Inc.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 also takes on hypertension, or high blood pressure, with a new feature that tracks irregularities in blood pressure over time. Additionally, hypertension notifications have been introduced for the Apple Watch.
Apple also introduced a new sleep score function on the Apple Watch SE 3 and Apple Watch Series 11, based on duration of sleep, how many times a user wakes up throughout the night, and regularity of sleep over time.
The AirPods Pro 3, priced at $249, offer live translation, transforming words from one language into another in real-time. They also have a hearing aid function introduced last year that transforms the buds into assistive devices for people experiencing mild to moderate hearing loss.
Heart rate sensing has been introduced for the AirPods Pro 3 as well. The new AirPods Pro 3 will be available on Sept. 19, and pre-orders begin on September 12.
The thinnest iPhone ever, the iPhone Air, was also unveiled. Claimed to be the most durable of all iPhones, it benefits from an improved internal chip.
Pre-orders for the new iPhone lineup start on September 12, and the new phones will be available starting September 19.
