Auto Legends Secures $8M for Blockchain-Powered Racing Game
Autoverse Studios, developer of the upcoming social drag racing game Auto Legends, has secured significant funding to enhance its blockchain-powered racing experience. The studio, led by veteran game director Scott Probin, will feature officially licensed vehicles and tuning options from major car brands in the game.
The latest funding round, totaling $8 million, was led by Star Capital and included investments from Coinbase Ventures, White Star Capital, Sfermion, RockawayX, Ocular, LiquidX, MCE Group, Saison Capital, and Sidedoor Ventures. This follows an earlier $1 million investment from Coinbase Ventures' Base Ecosystem Fund. Probin, who has worked on titles like NHL 94-97 and Need for Speed: Underground, will lead the development of Auto Legends.
The game will offer a competitive and immersive racing ecosystem, with players able to customize vehicles and earn blockchain-backed rewards. A closed beta version is set to release on the Epic Games Store for Windows and Mac, with a mobile release planned later this year.
With strong financial backing and a seasoned game director at the helm, Auto Legends is poised to deliver an exciting racing experience that combines the thrill of competition with the potential of blockchain technology.
