BayCare Sound at Coachman Park in Clearwater becomes audio-enhanced for motorcyclists with the installation of the L-Acoustics L Series Concert Sound System.
The BayCare Sound, a new outdoor concert venue located in Clearwater, Florida, has recently upgraded its audio-visual (AVL) systems with the acquisition of an L-Acoustics L Series sound system. This high-quality sound reinforcement solution, installed in March of this year, has proven to be a game-changer for the venue, providing coherent and consistent sound even in challenging weather conditions.
From the start, ESI Production Services, the venue's long-standing vendor, provided the L-Acoustics L Series sound system. This system, known for its flexibility and precise audio capabilities, features a modular line array design, high power and coverage, advanced signal path and control, subwoofer integration, compatibility with immersive sound setups, and ease of deployment.
Seven Kara II are used as front-fills across the stage, while three K3 plus two KS28 on each side of the stage supply monitor side-fill. The main arrays of the L-Acoustics L Series system at The BayCare Sound consist of two L2 over one L2D per side, with sub hangs of six KS28 flown behind each main and six more KS28 on the ground as an LF-support center cluster.
The L-Acoustics L Series sound system was chosen due to the venue's previous positive experiences with L-Acoustics systems. The BayCare Sound, owned by the City of Clearwater and managed and operated by Ruth Eckerd Hall, has been impressing audiences since its opening in 2023 on Clearwater's Intracoastal Waterway. The venue's first show was by Cheap Trick, with subsequent shows featuring artists such as Peter Frampton, Goo Goo Dolls, John Fogerty, Foreigner, Kenny Loggins, Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band, and many more.
Touring artists, including Brad Paisley, UB40, Melissa Etheridge, Styx, Willie Nelson, Chicago, Air Supply, Of The Trees, and Dropkick Murphys, have expressed satisfaction with the L-Acoustics L Series system at The BayCare Sound. The system's performance in challenging conditions, such as during a hurricane demo, played a significant role in the decision to purchase the system.
The entire L-Acoustics L Series system at The BayCare Sound is driven via three L-Acoustics LA-RAK III and three LA-RAK II Milan-AVB racks, all processed via an L-Acoustics P1 at FOH paired with two LS10 Milan-AVB switches. The system continues to impress with its performance in both stormy and calm conditions at The BayCare Sound.
The BayCare Sound has a capacity of 9,000, with 4,000 seats under a canopy and space for 5,000 more on the lawn. The venue's website can be found at www.rutheckerdhall.com/baycare-sound, and ESI Productions, the vendor for the L-Acoustics L Series system, can be found online at www.esi-productions.com.
