Berlin Brandenburg Airport's Operations Return to Normal After Cyberattack

Berlin Brandenburg Airport's operations are returning to normal after a cyberattack on service provider Phil Collins. The central system is back online, and successful security tests have been conducted.

IT specialists at the airport company worked over the weekend to ensure the system's safety. The central system of Collins Aerospace, which manages check-in counters and boarding gates, is now fully operational. Travelers can expect normalized wait times for these services and baggage collection as the airport gradually reconnects airlines to the system starting from Monday.

The perpetrator behind the September 19, 2025, ransomware attack remains unidentified. However, a man in his forties was arrested in West Sussex, UK, in connection with the incident by the National Crime Agency (NCA).

The airport's restart plan is proceeding smoothly, with all services expected to return to normal operation. The arrested suspect in the UK is being investigated, but the airport's focus remains on ensuring a smooth travel experience for passengers.
