BMW has revealed a lavishly equipped 5 Series sedan, showcasing its Individual customization options. This diesel-powered model, priced over €90,000 in Germany, boasts matte Portimao Blue paint, 21-inch aero wheels, and a Silverstone II/Atlas Grey leather interior. Meanwhile, BMW confirms its commitment to diesel engines, with plans for the 5 Series and upcoming SUVs like the X5 G65 in 2026 and the future X7.

The 5 Series, featuring a 3.0-liter diesel engine, is set to retain this powertrain until the end of its life cycle, aligning with BMW's 'Power of Choice' strategy. This model, equipped with the M Sport Package Pro, is a testament to BMW's own craftsmanship. In 2027, a facelift is expected, introducing a fresh design language from the Neue Klasse.

BMW's dedication to diesel engines is evident in its upcoming models. Despite the decline in diesel sales in the EU, UK, and EFTA—accounting for 8.3% through the first eight months of 2025—the manufacturer continues to invest in this technology. The 540d xDrive, with additional features like a head-up display and carbon fiber trim, further demonstrates BMW's commitment to premium diesel offerings.
