Borussia Mönchengladbach has chosen Ista as its sustainability partner.

In a move towards a greener and more sustainable future, ista, a leading energy management and metering solutions company, has partnered with Borussia to equip the expansive Borussia-Park area with custom measuring technology.

Located in Mönchengladbach, Germany, Borussia-Park spans over 40 football fields and comprises a stadium for more than 54,000 visitors, gastronomy, hotel, training ground, dormitory, retail, office buildings, and more.

Hagen Lessing, CEO of ista, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, "If we can equip a stadium area, we can equip anything." This sentiment echoes ista's mission to make buildings more climate-friendly, secure, and comfortable.

The partnership will result in a smart meter management system for the BORUSSIA-PARK, with each individual property in the area being equipped with ista's custom measuring technology. This technology aims to create complete transparency over consumption within the park, enabling a more conscious use of resources and potential savings across all areas.

Bernhard Nießen, Director of Stadium Operations/Building & Security, explained, "The partnership with ista will lead to a smart meter management system for the BORUSSIA-PARK."

Guido Uhle, Proxy and Director of Sponsoring at Borussia, shared his enthusiasm, stating that Borussia and ista share the same values and fit perfectly together. Uhle added, "ista, the official sustainability partner of Borussia, is equipping the entire BORUSSIA-PARK with custom measuring technology."

The partnership is initially planned for six years, and the goal is to make energy visible and enable savings in this vast area. With over 45 million active devices worldwide using ista's solutions for energy-efficient buildings and ista employing over 6,300 people in 20 countries, the company is well-equipped to deliver on this promise.

As ista continues to expand its reach and impact, it is clear that the company's commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability will continue to drive positive change in the sports and entertainment industries.

The smart meter management system in Borussia-Park, powered by ista's custom measuring technology, will foster a more conscious use of resources, aligning with environmental-science principles.
