Bus Purchases Alexander Dennis Enviro100EV Electric Model Shuttle Buses
The transportation sector in the UK is eagerly anticipating the unmissable event of the year – the CiTTi Awards, scheduled for 25 November 2025 at the prestigious De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. This annual event serves to recognise and celebrate achievements and innovations in sustainable public transport.
One of the highlights of this year's event will be the presentation by Metroline of the Alexander Dennis Enviro100EV bus. This electric vehicle, certified by the Zemo Partnership at 0.54kWh/km, has already made a positive impact, as evidenced by the initial feedback from Shuttle Buses' drivers. The driving experience, coupled with the bus's design that showcases expertise and experience, has been well-received.
Shuttle Buses, Scotland's only employee-owned bus company, operates a fleet of 55 buses and coaches from its Ayrshire base in Kilwinning. The company has recently added the Enviro100EV bus to its fleet, and the vehicle, equipped with 354kWh batteries, offers operational flexibility and a sensible range.
The delivery of the Enviro100EV bus was part-funded by the Scottish government through the first phase of the Scottish Zero Emission Bus challenge fund (ScotZEB). The bus, which has 25 passenger seats and a wheelchair space, is fitted with AD Connect telematics and its AD24 account, allowing Shuttle Buses to access operational data for the vehicle.
Moreover, the wheelchair space in the Enviro100EV is easily accessed through the main door, ensuring a seamless and inclusive travel experience for all passengers.
