Cadillac's Electric Excalade IQL Expands Size While Retaining Opulence
The much-anticipated 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL, an extended-length all-electric version of the flagship SUV, is set to roll off the production line at General Motors' Factory ZERO plant in Detroit on September 8, 2025. With deliveries expected later that year or early 2026, this premium electric vehicle promises to shake up the luxury EV market.
The Escalade IQL boasts a host of advanced features that cater to both comfort and performance. At its core, it features a 55-inch curved pillar-to-pillar infotainment screen, a 21-speaker stereo system (upgradable to 38-speakers in higher trims), Air Ride Adaptive Suspension with Magnetic Ride Control, and GM’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system.
Under the hood, the Escalade IQL runs on GM’s BT1 platform with dual electric motors powered by a 205 kWh battery. This setup delivers an impressive 750 horsepower, enabling 0-60 mph acceleration in approximately 4.7 seconds. The vehicle also boasts an estimated driving range of 460 miles on a full charge and an 8,000-pound towing capacity.
The Escalade IQL caters to the needs of passengers as well. The longer, more commanding profile offers enhanced third-row space and increased rear cargo capacity. Passengers in the third row will enjoy more than four additional inches of legroom compared to the Escalade IQ. Moreover, the Executive Second Row package offers stowable tray tables, 12.6-inch personal screens, dual wireless charging pads, and massaging, heated, and ventilated seats with 14-way power adjustment.
The Escalade IQL will be available in four trims: Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, and Premium Sport, with pricing starting at $132,695. Each trim offers unique features, with the Premium Luxury and Sport trims offering Night Vision thermal imaging and 16-way power front seats.
In terms of connectivity, the Escalade IQL offers a 5G Wi-Fi® hotspot capability and a comprehensive suite of OnStar safety and connected services. It also comes with standard all-wheel drive and new standard 22-inch wheels, optimizing ride quality. New paint colours, including a Vibrant White Tricoat, complement the refreshed exterior design for 2026.
The Escalade IQL's electric powertrain is backed by GM's commitment to sustainable technology. It is equipped with vehicle-to-home (V2H) bidirectional charging capabilities, allowing the vehicle to power a home during power outages.
