CD Player Enthusiasts to Rejoice: Teac Reveals New Reference 500 Series CD Transport for Devotees of Compact Discs
New Teac PD-507T CD Transport Unveiled for High-End Audio Systems
The Japanese niche audio brand Teac has launched a new CD transport, the PD-507T. Scheduled to ship in Q4 2025, this device is designed to expand the capabilities of Teac's Reference 500 Series and cater to a wide range of digital audio systems and external DACs.
The PD-507T is equipped with Teac's proprietary high-quality CD mechanism, based on the Teac CD-5020A, which has a long-standing track record for broadcast use. This basic CD transport mechanism has been fine-tuned to provide a higher level of sound quality compared to previous models.
The PD-507T offers connectivity with the CG-10M-X master clock generator, ensuring a stable and precise clock signal for superior audio performance. It also includes a feature that allows users to turn off any unused digital outputs to minimise interference.
The electrical circuitry and mechanical construction of the PD-507T have been meticulously designed to deliver an ultra-clean signal for feeding audio systems with digital inputs. Separate power supplies have been added for each clock and digital output to further enhance this signal purity.
The PD-507T is particularly suited for use with Teac's recently released UD-507, a discrete DAC, preamplifier, and headphone amplifier. It outputs an ultra-clean signal that complements the UD-507's high-end audio capabilities.
The power supply of the PD-507T is versatile, catering to both European and American markets. It supports AC 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz (Europe) and AC 120 V, 60 Hz (U.S.A./Canada). The power consumption of the device is 4W, and standby power is a mere 0.3W.
The PD-507T CD transport comes with a power cord, remote control (RC-1338), 2 x AAA batteries, 3 x foot pads, and an owner's manual as accessories. It is available for purchase from teacusa.com and select dealers, priced at $1,699.99 / £1,299 / €1.299.
With its high-quality construction, connectivity options, and compatibility with various digital audio systems and external DACs, the Teac PD-507T CD transport is set to be a valuable addition to any high-end audio setup.
