Christina Elmer Wins Scoop Award 2023 in Data Reporting Category
The media and content industry will gather in Hamburg on September 14th for the Scoopcamp 2023, an innovation conference that focuses on strategies for financing and reaching young target groups. This year, the spotlight is on Prof. Christina Elmer, who will be receiving the prestigious Scoop Award 2023.
Elmer, a university professor at TU Dortmund since 2021, has been driving digital and data journalism forward for over 15 years. She has made significant contributions to structurally modernizing journalism and has worked for esteemed media houses such as Spiegel, Stern, WDR, and the West German Broadcasting Corporation.
The Scoop Award is given to outstanding personalities in the media and digital economy. This year, Elmer will be honoured for her dedication and impact on the industry. After the award ceremony, she will give a keynote speech on "Disruption across the board: Why AI technologies particularly challenge the media - and how they can make journalism better."
Prof. Dr. Maren Urner, a neuroscientist and professor of media psychology, will give the laudation and presentation for Elmer at the Scoopcamp. Urner's expertise in media psychology adds a unique perspective to the event, which is also exploring the future of journalism.
Last year, the Scoop Award was presented to Jack Riley. However, according to the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame records, Riley is not identified as the winner of the Scoop Award 2022 in the available search results. Instead, the 2022 Scoop Award recipient was John Evans from KCBS.
