Commvault and BeyondTrust have joined forces in a strategic partnership to integrate Commvault Cloud with BeyondTrust Password Safe. The collaboration aims to bolster cybersecurity, minimise risks, and enhance data recovery efficiency for customers worldwide, with the solution available immediately at no extra cost.
The partnership, spearheaded by Commvault CEO Sanjay Mirchandani and BeyondTrust CEO Matt Dircks, unites Commvault's data management expertise with BeyondTrust's privileged access management. The result is a unified platform offering data protection, AI-driven threat detection, and incident response capabilities.
Alan Atkinson, Commvault's Chief Business Development Officer, stresses the importance of securing access points in comprehensive cybersecurity strategies. The rapid growth in machine identities, used by applications and automated services, presents an additional security challenge. The integrated solution addresses this by enabling centralised management of login credentials, issuing unique, temporary logins, and maintaining a detailed audit trail.
David Manks, BeyondTrust's vice president of Strategic Alliances, believes the integration increases resilience against cyber threats. It provides valuable insight and control over privileged access in backup and recovery environments, helping to manage identities and access rights in complex IT landscapes.
