Cyberattacks Surge: 78% of Swiss Companies Targeted, Political Action Mounts
A recent analysis of cyberattack data has revealed a worrying trend. While no specific companies have been identified as experiencing more than 7,000 attacks in the past six years, a significant number of businesses have faced numerous cyber threats. In Switzerland alone, 78 percent of companies were targeted last year, with 33 percent experiencing multiple attacks.
The findings highlight the growing concern of cybersecurity in the business world. Despite the lack of specific company names, the sheer volume of attacks suggests that no industry is immune. Rep. Kim Jang-kyom of the People Power Party is currently reviewing petitions related to cybersecurity at the National Assembly in Seoul, indicating that the issue is being taken seriously at a political level.
While the exact number and identity of companies most targeted by cyberattacks remain unclear, the overall picture is one of widespread vulnerability. As Rep. Kim's review suggests, governments are acknowledging the need for robust cybersecurity measures to protect businesses and consumers alike.
