Cybersecurity Unit Unveils Advanced Operations Center in Nairobi
BUI, a leading provider of cloud and security solutions, has announced the launch of its latest Cyber Security Operations Centre (Cyber SOC) in Nairobi, Kenya. The new facility is strategically positioned to enhance digital transformation and cybersecurity capabilities for businesses and enterprises in Kenya and across East Africa.
The Cyber SOC, BUI's fourth in Africa, will provide round-the-clock security for organizations of all sizes. It operates alongside BUI's SecOps team and is designed as a centralized unit to monitor, detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats in real-time.
Hasmukh Chudasama, General Manager for East Africa at BUI, highlighted the significance of the Nairobi Cyber SOC. Nairobi is a growing hub for digital enterprises in East Africa, and strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure is crucial to protecting sensitive data and ensuring operational continuity amid increasing cyber risks.
Ryan Roseveare, BUI Global CEO, expressed gratitude for the contributions made to the establishment of the facility. Phyllis Migwi, Microsoft Country Manager for Kenya, emphasized the importance of security in today's technology-driven world.
Rachael Ongalo, Head of IT at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust, shared her organization's positive experience since partnering with BUI for cybersecurity nearly three years ago. She noted that the BUI Cyber SOC has greatly enhanced their visibility, allowing for more effective threat detection and response. As a result, the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust has significantly reduced risks to their organization.
The BUI Nairobi Cyber SOC leverages a combination of Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Copilot, and custom tools for holistic security. By further strengthening its role in the evolving cybersecurity landscape through continued innovation and the integration of emerging cybersecurity technologies, BUI aims to protect its customers from the ever-evolving cyber threats.
The launch of the BUI Nairobi Cyber SOC represents a significant milestone in BUI's expansion within the East African market. It underscores BUI's commitment to serving business customers in cloud and security, facilitating a safer digital environment, and fostering trust in digital services.
