Dark Blue Night Skies Reflected in Audemars Piguet's Trio of Royal Oaks Timepieces

Audemars Piguet Introduces the Royal Oak "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" Collection

Audemars Piguet, the Swiss luxury watchmaker, has unveiled a new series of watches in celebration of its 150th anniversary. Among the latest releases is the Royal Oak "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" collection, which features three distinctive models.

The collection is characterised by a monochromatic look, with the watches boasting a dark blue ceramic colour inspired by the night sky in Switzerland's Valleé de Joux. The two Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph models, for instance, showcase this deep blue hue, with the colour extending to the chronograph pushers and crown.

One of the Offshore models features a regular tricompax configuration and is powered by the in-house Caliber 4401 automatic flyback chronograph movement. The other Offshore model, a 43mm watch with a stainless steel case and a dark blue ceramic bezel, houses the in-house Caliber 4404, providing a 70-hour reserve.

In addition to the Offshore models, the Royal Oak trio includes a Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked and a skeleton dial version. The Double Balance Wheel Openworked features a 41mm case, an in-house Caliber 3132 movement, and a dark blue integrated ceramic bracelet.

The Royal Oak Ladies’ Model with Diamond Bezel (Ref. 77451ST.ZZ.1361ST.04) is another standout piece in the collection. With a 34mm stainless steel case and a deep-blue "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" Grande Tapisserie textured dial, this watch is a stunning addition to the collection. The movement is the in-house automatic caliber 5800, with a 4 Hz frequency and a 50-hour power reserve.

The Royal Oak Jumbo Ultra Thin 39mm Stainless Steel (Ref. 16202ST) completes the trio. This model features a Bleu Nuit Nuage 50 Petite Tapisserie dial, offering a richer texture and colour depth. The pricing and availability details for this model are not specified, but it is a current 2025 model.

The new Royal Oak "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" models are available via Audemars Piguet's boutique with appointment. The price range for the collection is from $42,900 for the 43mm chronograph to $101,100 for the Openworked model. The hands and markers in the two Offshore models are white gold.

The "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" dial is a signature deep blue with a distinctive textured pattern, used in various Royal Oak models including anniversary editions, adding a unique luxurious aesthetic. Prices and availability vary greatly by model type, size, and materials, with luxury diamond-set versions costing less than the ceramic Offshore models.

In conclusion, the Royal Oak “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” collection includes luxury models ranging from a 34mm ladies’ diamond bezel steel watch ($48,950) to a 42mm ceramic Royal Oak Offshore ($115,000), plus ultra-thin 39mm stainless steel variants without immediately public pricing. Availability ranges from immediate pre-owned stock to procurement on order.
