Data management company D-Tools recruits Utz Baldwin for the supervision of their Data Solutions program.

D-Tools, a leading provider of data and intelligence solutions for the systems integration industry, is set for a significant evolution with the appointment of Utz Baldwin as the new head of data solutions. Baldwin, a former system integrator and long-time D-Tools user, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, particularly in the smart home industry and data delivery in homebuilding markets.

The appointment comes at a time when D-Tools is focusing on intelligence and operational excellence, with a renewed emphasis on its Industry Information & Insights (I3) initiative. This data-driven program aims to provide comprehensive market intelligence, benchmarking, and analytics to the entire systems integration ecosystem, including integrators, buying groups, manufacturers, and distributors. The goal is to enhance industry cohesion, improve operational efficiencies, and fuel growth by delivering actionable insights powered by advanced AI technologies, following a recent $12 million Series C funding round led by StellarIQ.

Baldwin's role is crucial in driving the next phase of the I3 program. His deep understanding of the smart home industry and experience in delivering actionable data make him ideal for leading market research efforts and guiding the evolution of the I3 initiative. Baldwin's aim is to enable smarter decisions and real business outcomes across the systems integration industry, with a commitment to contributing to the delivery of AI-driven insights.

Baldwin's extensive background in the connected home and smart building sectors aligns directly with D-Tools' vision for delivering data solutions. Most recently, he was vice president of innovation at Builder Homesite Inc. (BDX), where he pioneered aggregated trend data for the homebuilding market. Prior to that, he served as chairman and CEO of CEDIA, where he launched the organization's first formal research department.

Randy Stearns, CEO of D-Tools, is excited about Baldwin joining the team. "Utz's deep understanding of the smart home industry, combined with his experience delivering actionable data, makes him an ideal fit to lead our Industry Information & Insights (I3) initiative," Stearns said. "We're thrilled to have him on board."

With Baldwin at the helm, D-Tools is uniquely positioned to redefine how the industry works, grows, and connects. Baldwin himself is honored to work alongside D-Tools' industry veterans and expresses excitement about joining the team. "I'm thrilled to be joining D-Tools at such a pivotal time," Baldwin said. "Their focus on intelligence and operational excellence, combined with their commitment to delivering actionable insights, makes them the ideal platform for data and intelligence solutions in the systems integration industry."
