Data protection veteran Dixon takes seat on Repak's governing body
In a move to fortify its commitment to innovation and sustainability in packaging design and recycling, Repak has appointed Helen Dixon to its Board of Directors.
Helen Dixon, who previously served as the Irish Data Protection Commissioner from 2014 to 2024, will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to Repak. Her two five-year terms as Data Protection Commissioner demonstrate her dedication and commitment to her roles.
In her new role, Dixon will focus on spearheading innovation and best practice in packaging design, as well as further developing Repak's vision for the future. She will work closely with Repak's CEO, Zoe Kavanagh, who shares a similar vision for the company.
Kavanagh expressed her delight at Dixon's appointment, stating that her extensive knowledge of governance, policy development, and operational delivery, along with her commitment to innovation, is a welcome addition to the Repak Board.
Dixon's background in upholding individual rights and her role as the lead European data regulator for multinational companies with European headquarters in Ireland may contribute to her ability to drive best practice and compliance in the packaging and recycling sector.
Prior to her role as Data Protection Commissioner, Dixon was the Irish Registrar of Companies. Her previous experience, along with her tenure in senior roles in the Department of Jobs, Enterprise, and Innovation, may also add value to Repak's mission.
Dixon emphasized the importance of initiatives to reduce, reuse, and recycle for environmental sustainability. She plans to support Repak in identifying ways to encourage, incentivize, and drive best practice and compliance as regulatory requirements for packaging and recycling evolve.
Dixon expressed enthusiasm about taking up an independent non-executive role on the Repak Board. Her statements highlight her commitment to environmental sustainability and compliance in the packaging and recycling sector.
With Dixon's appointment, Repak continues to demonstrate its dedication to innovation, sustainability, and compliance in the packaging and recycling industry.
