Drone enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement this summer, as searches for drone photography skyrocket by 122% compared to last year. Meanwhile, DJI, a leading drone manufacturer, faces challenges both in the market and in the courts.

Denis Barbas has shared a stunning cinematic drone reel, shot entirely on the new DJI Mini 5 Pro. The reel demonstrates the drone's enhanced dynamic range, stabilisation, and low-light performance, even in rugged conditions. This comes as searches for drone photography reach record highs, driven by affordable and user-friendly models like the DJI Neo and Flip.

However, DJI is facing supply issues, leading to desperate buyers becoming targets for scammers. Fraudulent websites and social media listings are advertising popular DJI models at below-retail prices. To avoid such scams, buyers are advised to stick to trusted sellers, verify website legitimacy, and use credit cards for payments.

In other news, Uber has launched drone delivery services in partnership with Flytrex. The service integrates Flytrex's Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drones with Uber Eats' logistics platform. This move follows a recent court ruling where DJI lost a lawsuit against the Pentagon, remaining on the military-linked Chinese firms blacklist. The US Department of Defense designated DJI as a military end-user and added it to the list of entities posing risks to US national security and defense interests.

Despite facing challenges, DJI continues to innovate and capture the interest of drone enthusiasts worldwide. As drone photography gains popularity, consumers are urged to stay vigilant against scams. Meanwhile, Uber's drone delivery service marks a significant step in the integration of drones into everyday life.
