Efficient Transport Method Combined: Rail and Roadway Solution by Roadrunner from Fliegl

Introducing the SDS 390 Roadrunner: A Robust Intermodal Trailer for Combined Transport

The SDS 390 Roadrunner, designed by Fliegl, is a sturdy intermodal trailer engineered for rail loading. This trailer boasts a robust structure certified according to Code XL and DL 9.5, a special tarpaulin, foldable underrun and side protection, and meets the requirements for the beverage certificate and rail codification.

The trailer's loading floor is designed to withstand heavy forklifts with an axle load of up to 7,900 kilograms. To facilitate easy loading, the crane pockets are marked to help the crane operator load type e, f, g, and i pocket wagons onto a support block 1,110 millimeters high.

For optimal load securing, the outer frame is equipped with the Load-Lock profile. The SDS 390 Roadrunner is also equipped with a 140 millimeter high crash blocker at the front and side pallet stoppers in a bolted design for increased safety.

The trailer's first axle is an automatic lift axle with start-up aid and forced lowering. The side curtain and grab edge protection are reinforced with welded horizontal and vertical belts for increased strength in combined transport.

The SDS 390 Roadrunner is suitable for transport speeds of up to 140 kilometers per hour. Its unladen weight is 5.8 tons, and its payload capacity is an impressive 29,200 kilograms. The axle spacing is slightly offset for 44 tons in combined transport.

The roof tarpaulin is fastened with five buckles per cross bar, and every second cross bar is additionally equipped with roof securing hooks. The loading floor is reinforced with eight longitudinal beams for a high point load capacity.

The SDS 390 Roadrunner has been certified according to Code XL and DL 9.5, and rail-coded according to EN 13044. It also holds a beverage certificate according to VDI 2700 sheet 12 ff.

The trailer's four gripper edges are colour-coded for added convenience. The support feet have been moved back by 120 millimeters, and the trailer features a folding side underride and underrun protection.

The SDS 390 Roadrunner is a testament to Fliegl's commitment to creating high-quality, versatile trailers that cater to the demands of combined transport. Its robust design, combined with its adherence to industry standards and certifications, makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a reliable and efficient intermodal trailer.

  1. The SDS 390 Roadrunner, a creation by Fliegl, is not just a robust intermodal trailer for rail loading, but also a representative of the advanced technology currently shaping the automotive industry.
  2. The manufacturing process for the SDS 390 Roadrunner involves careful consideration of finance, as the final product is designed to optimize transportation efficiency, thereby reducing costs in this sector.
  3. The SDS 390 Roadrunner's adherence to industry standards such as Code XL, DL 9.5, EN 13044, and VDI 2700 sheet 12 ff, underscores its importance in maintaining the integrity and safety within the transportation industry.
