The automotive industry is abuzz with excitement as Mitsubishi Motors announces the launch of their all-new Eclipse Cross, a compact SUV designed exclusively as a battery electric vehicle (BEV). Set to hit European markets by the end of 2025, the Eclipse Cross promises to redefine the compact SUV segment with its innovative features and cutting-edge technology.

Design and Aesthetics

The exterior design concept of the all-new Eclipse Cross is "Smart Armor," a testament to its robust yet sleek appearance. The front face features an evolved version of Mitsubishi Motors' design identity, the Dynamic Shield, adding a touch of familiarity to this futuristic vehicle. A panoramic glass roof with an electrochromic function further enhances the interior's open and spacious feel.

Technology and Performance

Under the hood, the all-new Eclipse Cross boasts a drive battery with a total capacity of 87 kilowatt-hours (kWh), which, combined with its advanced aerodynamic design, promises an approximate range of 600 km (373 miles) (WLTP mode) per charge. The vehicle offers four selectable levels of regenerative braking via paddle shifters positioned on the steering wheel, enabling one-pedal driving for a seamless driving experience.

The all-new Eclipse Cross is equipped with a vertical 12.3-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) system, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with wireless connectivity. Google built-in and advanced safety technologies ensure a safe and connected journey.

Safety and Assistance

Safety is paramount, and the all-new Eclipse Cross offers up to 20 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These systems include lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control, among others. The vehicle is also equipped with a 360-degree camera system for enhanced visibility.

Manufacturing and Partnership

The battery electric version of the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross for the European market is produced by Renault at its ElectriCity Douai Plant in France under an OEM agreement within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. This strategic partnership ensures the production of high-quality, eco-friendly vehicles that align with the Alliance's commitment to sustainable mobility.

In summary, the all-new Eclipse Cross is a compact SUV that seamlessly blends style, technology, and performance. With its innovative features, commitment to sustainability, and focus on safety, it's poised to make a significant impact in the European market.
