Electric variant of Mitsubishi's Eclipse Cross SUV debuts in Europe
Mitsubishi Motors has announced the launch of the all-new Eclipse Cross, a compact SUV designed exclusively as a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and built on the CMF-EV platform. This latest addition to Mitsubishi's lineup will be manufactured at Renault's ElectriCity Douai Plant in France, the Renault Group's dedicated electric vehicle production hub and part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance's joint manufacturing initiatives.
The all-new Eclipse Cross boasts an impressive range of approximately 600 km (373 miles), making it an ideal choice for daily commuting and longer journeys. The front face of the vehicle features an evolved version of Mitsubishi Motors' design identity, the Dynamic Shield, and the interior is inspired by a "Sporty and Modern" design approach.
One of the standout features of the all-new Eclipse Cross is its advanced technology. It supports wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing seamless integration of your smartphone for hands-free operation of various features. The vehicle also offers Google built-in1, which further enhances its hands-free capabilities.
The all-new Eclipse Cross is equipped with a 12.3-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) system, providing an intuitive and user-friendly interface for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings. The audio system features a Harman Kardon premium sound system, ensuring an immersive audio experience.
Safety is a top priority for Mitsubishi Motors, and the all-new Eclipse Cross reflects this commitment. It offers up to 20 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot detection. The vehicle also supports Firmware-Over-The-Air (FOTA) wireless software update technology, ensuring your vehicle stays up-to-date with the latest features and improvements.
The all-new Eclipse Cross also offers a range of convenience features. It comes with a Mitsubishi Motors mobile app for remote access, allowing you to check the vehicle's status, climate control, and more from your smartphone. The vehicle also features ambient lighting with 48 color variations that can be customized to suit your mood.
Mitsubishi Motors has also announced plans for a medium-range model of the all-new Eclipse Cross that focuses on everyday usability. This model is scheduled to be launched in 2026.
The all-new Eclipse Cross BEV will be launched for the European market by the end of 2025. With its advanced features, impressive range, and sporty design, the all-new Eclipse Cross is set to make a significant impact in the compact SUV market.
