Electric VW ID. Buzz of 2025 to Offer Complimentary 500kWh of Charging and Discount with Electrify America

The much-anticipated all-electric ID. Buzz is set to arrive in American driveways this year, and with it comes a three-year charging plan in collaboration with Electrify America (EA). This plan aims to deliver a seamless and cost-effective charging experience to ID. Buzz owners.

Key Features of the Charging Plan

The charging plan offers a range of benefits to ID. Buzz owners, including complimentary charging at EA's network of charging stations for three years. This initiative is designed to lower the cost burden for ID. Buzz owners during this period.

In addition to complimentary charging, customers will also benefit from an exclusive membership with EA, likely including access to reduced per-kilowatt-hour (kWh) rates and priority services. The plan is a collaborative initiative directly tied to Volkswagen and EA.

For non-members or after the complimentary period, typical charging rates at EA stations have been reported around $0.64 per kWh during peak hours. This rate led to charges approximately $39-$44 for 25-27 minutes of fast charging (about 80% charge).

Electrify America stations cap charging at 85% state of charge to reduce congestion and improve station availability, which affects overall charging sessions for ID. Buzz owners.

Plug&Charge Technology

The ID. Buzz includes Plug&Charge technology at EA stations, making it easy for users to plug in and start charging automatically without manual payments or app use. This functionality is a key feature of the Volkswagen-EA partnership starting from this generation of vehicles.

ID. Buzz drivers can initiate charging sessions automatically by activating it in the EA mobile app. With Plug&Charge, drivers can confidently embark on road trips and daily commutes with access to EA's coast-to-coast network, strategically located along major highways and in metropolitan areas.

A Sustainable Future

The charging solution for the ID. Buzz is part of a larger effort by Volkswagen and EA to pave the way for a more sustainable future. The partnership aims to provide ID. Buzz owners with a confident and convenient electric mobility experience.

In addition to the charging plan, Volkswagen of America, Inc. has announced a charging agreement with Electrify America that includes three years of EA's Pass+ membership. This membership offers preferential per-kilowatt-hour (kWh) rates, saving about 25 percent compared to standard pay-as-you-go options.

Robert Barrosa, President and CEO of Electrify America, expressed excitement about the charging solution for the ID. Buzz, stating, "We are increasing zero-direct emission driving with this new charging agreement for the ID. Buzz."

With the arrival of the ID. Buzz and its comprehensive charging plan, Volkswagen and EA are taking a significant step towards a more sustainable future for electric mobility in the United States.

The ID. Buzz's charging plan, in collaboration with Electrify America (EA), offers a sustainable solution for ID. Buzz owners, providing three years of complimentary charging at EA stations, designed to lower costs and promote electric-vehicle adoption. Furthermore, the ID. Buzz incorporates Plug&Charge technology, enabling seamless charging at EA stations, making it a key feature for electric-vehicle enthusiasts exploring the lifestyle of modern technology and sustainable cars.
