Encounter the Almosteverine and Deadpool Counterparts That Nearly Became Reality
Let's Dive into the Unseen Deadpool & Wolverine Characters!
This cinematic extravaganza, Deadpool & Wolverine, blew our minds with its multiversal madness, including an entire army of Deadpool duplicates. One of the most talked-about variants was the combo of Lady Deadpool and baby Deadpool, but there were plenty more lurking in the shadows, ready to join the chaos.
Recently, artists who worked behind the scenes have shared a sneak peek at some of these left-on-the-bench characters. David Masson, one of the talented artists, unveiled two of his creations: Wolverinepool and Punkpool. The former is a clear spin on Wade donning Logan's outfit, but with a twist of Headpool's color scheme for that distinctive flair. One wonders if this character would've been played by a blend of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to do justice to both their charms. Punkpool, on the other hand, is a rocker variant brimming with studs, spikes, and attitude, taking inspiration from Spider-Punk with twin guitars instead of katanas.
Wolverinepool and Punkpool aren't the only characters unveiled. Andy Park, another artist on the project, showed us Robpool. This character pays tribute to Deadpool's co-creator Rob Liefeld with his exaggerated muscles, pouches, swords, shoulder pads, and original eye shapes, as well as Liefeld's iconic color breakups. It's missing only some of Liefeld's exaggerated feet to be the full Liefeld experience!
Park also demonstrated concept art of Deadpool entering the Marvel Comics Universe. In this sequence, the heroes of the MCU would've been reimagined in the style of legendary comic artists.
Alas, while Wolverinepool, Punkpool, Robpool, and Marvel Comics Universe Deadpool haven't made it into the final movie, you'll be able to marvel at them in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine art book, due to hit shelves on October 29.
