Enhanced Mobile Network Services in Kleve by Telekom
Deutsche Telekom Expands Mobile Network in Kleve District
Deutsche Telekom is set to significantly enhance its mobile network infrastructure in the Kleve district over the next three years. The company plans to build around 40 new mobile network sites, aiming to improve network coverage, increase capacity, and boost mobile internet speeds for residents and businesses in the area.
This expansion includes upgrades to existing sites and the deployment of new 5G technology to support the growing demand for high-speed mobile connectivity. This initiative is part of Deutsche Telekom’s broader strategy to strengthen digital infrastructure across Germany.
Currently, Deutsche Telekom operates 147 mobile sites in the Kleve district, with plans to add 20 more over the next three years. Three existing sites have been expanded with LTE, and one with 5G. Additionally, 65 existing mobile sites will be expanded with LTE or 5G.
The improvements have already started to bear fruit. Emergency calls and warnings are now possible at all sites in the Kleve district, and the coverage of mobile internet has been improved, covering 99% of the population. In fact, the supply of fast mobile internet has been increased to 99% of households in the district.
Deutsche Telekom's mobile sites in the district support the Advanced Mobile Location (AML) emergency technology and the Cell Broadcast warning system. AML automatically transmits the caller's location to the emergency control center during emergency calls to 112, while Cell Broadcast sends danger alerts to mobile phones in the affected cell, for example in case of major fires, gas explosions, or floods.
Those who wish to offer a site for a rooftop or mast location can contact Deutsche Funkturm via www.dfmg.de/standortangebot. Landlords receive a long-term, location-appropriate rent for leasing areas for new mobile sites.
In recent weeks, Deutsche Telekom has taken two new antenna sites into operation in Kleve district, with sites in Goch and Rees now operational. The company is maintaining its pace in mobile network expansion.
