ESPN Launches Direct-to-Consumer Streaming Service on August 21

ESPN's highly anticipated direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming service is set to launch on August 21, 2025. This timely release coincides with the start of major sports seasons such as college football, NFL, US Open tennis, and more.

The service offers two plans, with the unlimited plan priced at just $29.99 per month. This plan grants access to all ESPN linear networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ESPN Deportes), ESPN on ABC, ESPN+, ESPN3, SECN+, and ACCNX. This comprehensive coverage includes approximately 47,000 live events annually.

The unlimited plan also offers a robust, on-demand library featuring "30 for 30" films, ESPN Originals, replays, and more. Subscribers can enjoy a comprehensive sports lineup, including NFL, college football, WNBA playoffs, NBA and NHL seasons, UFC, WWE, international soccer, women's college soccer, volleyball, field hockey, PLL playoffs, tennis, and more.

Launching alongside the service is the enhanced ESPN App, which introduces a more personalized, dynamic viewing experience for fans. The app includes personalized features such as integrated game stats, betting information, fantasy sports, commerce options, multiview capabilities, and a personalized "SportsCenter For You".

At launch, ESPN DTC’s unlimited plan will be available in a bundle offer with Disney+ and Hulu for $29.99 per month for the first 12 months. This bundle effectively combines all three services at the price of ESPN alone during this promotional period.

ESPN has also announced a new deal with the NFL for more content on the app. In the future, the service will offer access to the start of the WNBA playoffs, PLL playoffs, NBA and NHL seasons, as well as UFC and WWE events.
