CCV, a Dutch company with over 65 years of experience in the digital payment industry, has unveiled a new solution designed to simplify and streamline payments at electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The solution, named "Cloud Connect for EV charging," is set to address challenges in existing integration methods and provide a quick and cost-efficient solution for the EV charging industry.

For over half a century, CCV has been a pioneer, serving traditional retail sectors and adapting to the needs of emerging markets such as electric vehicle charging, parking, vending machines, and public transport. Today, CCV manages a network of nearly 750,000 reimburse terminals and around 20,000 operational online stores.

The Cloud Connect for EV charging solution is designed to work seamlessly with a Charge Point Management System (CPMS) using the OCPI protocol. This integration allows operators to activate and link the terminal to one or more charge stations, making the process straightforward and efficient.

Drivers will benefit from a variety of payment methods, including credit/debit cards and mobile applications, ensuring convenience and flexibility. The solution also aligns with regulatory demands such as the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), which will come into effect on April 13th, and current market expectations of end-users.

Charge Point Manufacturers (CPMs) can also reap benefits from this solution. With Cloud Connect for EV charging, they can focus more on the charge point itself and require minimal effort for payment terminal integration, leading to simpler and faster installation, quicker commercialization, and reduced costs.

The manufacturer of the Charge Point Management System (CPMS) integrated by CCV for their cloud-based EV charging solution is Virta. This collaboration aims to provide a comprehensive, standardized solution that adheres to the recently launched payment integration by the EV Roaming Foundation, which uses fully standardized protocols.

CCV offers end-to-end payments at various touchpoints, including online and unattended solutions, ensuring a seamless user experience across all platforms. With the Cloud Connect for EV charging solution, CCV continues to innovate and lead the way in the digital payment industry, making electric vehicle charging more accessible and convenient for drivers everywhere.
