European Union drives internet integration into telecom operations.
Dresden, Saxony, is set to host the Connect Conference 2024, an event that promises to strengthen the positive perception of Silicon Saxony and bring together high-level industry players. The conference, which will take place on June 18, 2024, is organised by WEKA Media Publishing and has Dresden as a partner.
Mayor of Dresden, Dirk Hilbert, considers Dresden to be the largest European location for microelectronics, information, and communication technology, and the location for microelectronics par excellence. This sentiment is reflected in the diverse program of the Connect Conference, which features lectures and panel discussions on various topics.
Some of the key topics to be covered include "5G on the way to 6G", "Sustainability in mobile networks", "Security as a key factor in mobile networks", "Improving network quality and customer relationships through AI", "Integration of fiber optic and mobile networks", "The comeback of Open RAN", and "Static measurements in dynamic networks".
Network operators such as 1&1, Telefónica, and Vodafone are participating in the conference, along with speakers from O2 Telefónica, 1&1, Vodafone, 5G Synergiewerk, Arthur D. Little Austria, Huawei, NTT DATA, Rohde & Schwarz, Nokia, the state capital of Dresden, Amazon Web Services (AWS), umlaut, and Vantage Towers.
AWS is also involved as a sponsor of a funding initiative at the Connect Conference 2024 in Dresden. Together with Amazon and Stifterverband, AWS seeks to support ten projects through this program.
