Exhibition of Exceptional Quality at Munich's Kunsthalle by PC

The Kunsthalle München is set to present the works of French digital artist Miguel Chevalier in an immersive exhibition titled "Digital by Nature," running from February 2023 to March 1, 2026. The exhibition invites visitors to participate actively, room by room.

Chevalier's work draws inspiration from the diversity and beauty of the world news, with a particular focus on the Euphorbia plant. He has given these digital creations the nicknames "Alchimica Veritas of Rousseau" and "Fractal Flowers," paying homage to the 18th-century philosopher and educator Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who is said to have influenced Chevalier's work.

The vibrant, 3D-printed works are showcased in the exhibition, which offers a unique perspective on classical oil painting translated into new, digital dimensions. One of the highlights of the exhibition is the interactive installation titled "The Origin of the World" (2012), featuring a red Janus head created with a 3D printer.

The first school class opening of "Digital by Nature" is offered every Wednesday from 9 to 10 am. Registration for this special event is required and can be done by emailing [email protected].

A catalog for the exhibition has been published by Hirmer Verlag Munich, offering an in-depth look at Chevalier's digital creations. The catalog can be purchased for 25 euros in the museum and around 40 euros in bookstores.

Visitors to the exhibition can expect a captivating journey into the digital world, with Chevalier's works offering a fresh perspective on the possibilities that the computer opens up for art. Whether you feel at home in the virtual world or are marveling at its possibilities for the first time, "Digital by Nature" is not to be missed. The exhibition is open daily from 10 am to 8 pm.
