ExLabs Lands $1.9M Space Force Contract for Adaptable SERVSAM Spacecraft
Southern California startup ExLabs has received a $1.9 million contract from the U.S. Space Force to develop SERVSAM, a heavy-class, reconfigurable spacecraft designed for flexible mission profiles across various orbital regimes. This project aims to bolster national security priorities in space.
ExLabs secured the Direct-to-Phase 2 Small Business Innovation Research contract through the Space Force Space Systems Command. The company plans to deploy SERVSAM spacecraft in both low-Earth and deep space by 2027.
Built on ExLabs' modular Space Exploration and Resource Vehicle (SERV) architecture, SERVSAM is designed to adapt to diverse mission requirements. This adaptability will enable the U.S. Space Force to respond swiftly to changing needs in space.
ExLabs has previously secured over $22 million in combined contracts for advancing its core platform. The latest $1.9 million contract from the U.S. Space Force will support the development of SERVSAM, further enhancing the company's capabilities in space exploration and resource management.
