Ford's Power Promise Extension to Canada: Complimentary Electric Vehicle Charger and Installation Service
Ford is making it easier for Canadians to switch to electric vehicles (EVs) by expanding its Power Promise program across the country. The program, which was previously available only in the United States, is now offering discounted home charger and standard installation bundles for eligible Ford EVs in Canada.
Under the Power Promise program, Quebec residents can purchase a discounted home charger and standard installation bundle for just $2,450, down from its estimated retail price of $3,600. Eligible vehicles for the program include the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, and E-Transit.
The convenience of home charging is highlighted as a key factor in making this possible. Ford partnered with ChargePoint and RocketEV Charging Solutions Inc. for the installation process, ensuring a seamless experience for customers.
Ford's expansion of the Power Promise program to Canada comes in response to record-breaking EV sales in the country. In 2024, Ford experienced a 66.1% increase in EV sales compared to the previous year. However, some customers remain hesitant to switch to electric due to concerns about charging availability, installation costs, and long-term battery reliability.
Bev Goodman, president and CEO of Ford Canada, stated that the goal is for customers across Canada to feel confident in choosing a Ford vehicle and the powertrain that's right for them. "We are proud to lead the way in offering the Power Promise program across Canada, and we hope that this initiative will help to alleviate some of the concerns that potential EV buyers may have," Goodman said.
In addition to the discounted home charger and installation bundle, Quebec buyers can access a special financing offer to help with the cost. The offer is available from February 1 to March 31, 2025.
Ford partnered with ChargePoint to install home chargers for the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, and E-Transit electric vehicles in Canada. The company is committed to making the transition to EVs as smooth as possible for its customers.
With the Power Promise program now available across Canada, Ford is taking a significant step towards promoting the adoption of electric vehicles in the country. The company is confident that this initiative will help to address some of the barriers that have prevented more Canadians from making the switch to electric.
