Fotowatio Renewable Ventures and Envision Energy Partner for Green Ammonia Project in Brazil

Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), a part of Jameel Energy, has announced a strategic partnership with Envision Energy for the development of the H2 Cumbuco green ammonia project in Brazil.

The H2 Cumbuco project, still under the responsibility of the issuer, is a planned 500 MW AI-driven green ammonia plant located at the Port of Pecém, Ceará. The plant will use electrolysis to produce green hydrogen from renewable electricity, which will then be synthesized into ammonia for domestic use and export to Europe and Asia.

FRV, the project developer, brings extensive experience with over 3 GW of renewable and storage assets globally. Envision Energy, on the other hand, contributes advanced AI-managed renewable energy and hydrogen system expertise. This collaboration is positioned as a flagship for Brazil’s renewable energy transition and export strategy, coinciding with Brazil hosting COP30 in 2025 and aiming to build a competitive low-carbon economy.

FRV has been actively engaged in the development of renewable hydrogen projects for several years, securing public funding for two green hydrogen-related initiatives in Spain. The partnership with Envision Energy comes as Brazil develops a competitive low carbon economy with a focus on green hydrogen and green ammonia production, not just for its domestic market, but for export to other parts of the world.

FRV sees Brazil as a country with the potential to become a global leader in the renewable hydrogen sector, due to its strategic geographic position, strong commitment to the energy transition, and broad public support. The H2 Cumbuco project has been in development since 2023, with the project in advanced stages of engineering and environmental permitting, and key resources secured, including land and water rights.

Envision Energy was chosen for its leadership and proven expertise in total renewable energy systems, including renewables, green hydrogen, and AI technology. The project, named H2 Cumbuco, is located in Brazil's Pecem Port and targets key markets in Brazil, Europe, and Asia. Envision brings to the project its globally recognized expertise in integrated renewable energy solutions, building on its pioneering scalable clean energy models.

The partnership aims to build an electrolysis facility of up to 500MW and an integrated ammonia plant, with an expected operation by 2030. The project emphasizes scalable, modular, and replicable clean energy models with strategic goals of decarbonization, economic development, and securing export markets.
