Callidus Legal AI, a pioneering legal technology company, has just secured $10 million in new funding, bringing its total to $13 million. This investment will propel the company forward as it continues to transform the legal tech industry through artificial intelligence (AI).

The funding round was led by Cervin Ventures, with participation from AI Fund, Myriad Venture Partners, Tandem Ventures, Active Capital, Capital Factory, Foley & Lardner, and a consortium of partners from a top 25 law firm.

The AI platform developed by Callidus automates complex legal tasks, such as legal research, drafting, memo creation, contract drafting, and document redlining. It seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Word to streamline workflows even further. The company has also built a comprehensive database of over 10 million U.S. legal cases, enriched with detailed metadata and case summaries to enhance research precision.

In May, Callidus launched its most advanced legal research and drafting system, incorporating a comprehensive U.S. case law database.

Andrew Ng, Managing General Partner at AI Fund, believes Callidus' approach to legal service delivery is a generational shift, being faster, smarter, and more strategically insightful. Chris Fisher, Founder & Managing General Partner at Myriad Venture Partners, shares this sentiment, noting that Callidus' AI-powered platform is streamlining workflows for litigators and addressing real-world needs in the legal industry. Taylor Oliver, Partner at Cervin Ventures, highlights Callidus' technical depth, including custom legal reasoning models, intelligent document understanding, and end-to-end automation.

With this new funding, Callidus plans to unveil new features throughout the second half of 2025. The company aims to triple its team size in the coming months, hiring across product development, engineering, customer success, and legal AI research in both Texas and California. The funds raised will be used to accelerate product development, ensuring continued growth and innovation in legal technology.

Justin McCallon, CEO of Callidus Legal AI, stated that AI has advanced to the point where substantially automating legal work is no longer a question of possibility. Chris Fisher, with an extensive legal background, expresses confidence in Callidus' potential to revolutionize the legal industry.

Callidus' visual research system enables lawyers to make strategic decisions while the AI organizes data, condensing week-long tasks into about 10 minutes. Unlike competitors, Callidus produces substantial legal work, including detailed research, structured outlines, and fully drafted litigation documents.

The legal industry will greatly benefit from Callidus' approach, as stated by Andrew Ng. Chris Fisher also emphasizes Callidus' momentum as a testament to the difficult problems and workflows they are addressing, as well as the outstanding Callidus team.

Callidus is at the forefront of transforming the legal tech industry by AI, as stated by Chris Fisher. The company is committed to leveraging its advanced AI technology to revolutionize how litigation is managed, enhancing productivity and efficiency for legal professionals.
