Future Group Collaborates with o9 Solutions in their Retail Modernization Venture
In a significant move towards modernising its supply chain operations, India's largest publicly listed retailer, Future Group, has partnered with o9 Solutions. This partnership aims to establish an integrated business planning (IBP) process and support Future Group's planning across all time horizons, from long-term strategic planning to short-term operations.
Vivek Biyani, Director at Future Group, stated that the o9 Solutions platform will play a pivotal role in Future Group's operations. The platform will be utilised for generating requirements at Distribution Centres (DC's) and for Future Consumer Limited, Future Group's own Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) requirements.
Chakri Gottemukkala, Co-Founder and CEO of o9 Solutions, expressed his company's excitement about collaborating with Future Group. He did not mention specific features of the o9 Solutions platform, beyond its role in IBP and planning across various time horizons. However, he did highlight that the partnership will help Future Group increase revenues, reduce costs, improve customer service, and enhance employee productivity.
The o9 platform will enable a truly digital IBP process, allowing vendors and Future Group's CPG to validate their plans against the overall Annual numbers in the platform. Future Group will also use the platform to incorporate both internal and external demand drivers while planning for promotions, utilising powerful machine learning algorithms to create a demand forecast.
In addition to demand and replenishment planning, the o9 platform will support Future Group's Sales and Operations Planning for its 1500 stores across 450 cities, encompassing all retail formats. Future Group plans to run IBP meetings live in the o9 system.
Future Group has prioritised the improvement of supply chain performance through next-generation technology as part of its 'Thathastu' initiative. The partnership with o9 Solutions is a significant step towards achieving this goal. Chakri Gottemukkala looks forward to a long-term partnership between o9 Solutions and Future Group.
