Gemini 2.0 Flash's stable version is currently being released within the Gemini app.
Google has announced a significant update for its AI-powered chat service, Gemini, by making the Gemini 2.0 Flash available for free users in the Gemini app. This marks the first time the advanced model has been accessible to all users.
The Gemini 2.0 Flash replaces the Gemini 2.0 Flash experimental model, which was previously exclusive to subscribers. This new model offers faster responses and stronger performance, according to Google.
The upgrade to Gemini 2.0 Flash also brings improved Imagen 3 image generation, delivering richer details and textures. All users can now enjoy conversations and image uploads with the newer model.
The transition from older Gemini models to the Gemini 2.0 series began in late 2024. The stable Gemini 2.0 Flash model was rolled out in January 2025, while the Gemini 2.0 Pro followed shortly after. More advanced versions like Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 2.5 Flash were released in May and June 2025, effectively superseding all older Gemini versions.
While the timeline for the stability of the Gemini 2.0 Experimental Advanced or other 2.0 models is unclear, the Gemini 2.0 Flash will become the primary model after the replacement of older Gemini models.
Google One AI Premium members continue to have exclusive features, such as a larger context window, Deep Research, Gems, and more. The context window for Premium members can accommodate up to 1,500 pages of file uploads.
Gemini 1.5 Flash and 1.5 Pro will remain available for a few more weeks to allow users to continue their conversations before being replaced by the Gemini 2.0 models in the near future.
The Gemini 2.0 Flash model is now available on the Gemini web client and is rolling out in the Gemini app. Users are encouraged to update their Gemini app to experience the enhanced features and performance of the Gemini 2.0 Flash.
Technology has been integrated into the new Gemini 2.0 Flash model, enhancing its AI capabilities. This upgrade in artificial-intelligence allows the model to offer faster responses and stronger performance, as well as improved Imagen 3 image generation with richer details and textures.
