Aviva Investors, a leading global asset management firm, has made two significant appointments to expand its global equities team. Nicholette MacDonald-Brown and Matt Bennison have joined the company in senior roles, focusing on active strategies within the global equities team.

Nicholette MacDonald-Brown, a seasoned professional with over two decades' experience in equity fund management, has been appointed as the global head of active equities at Aviva Investors. She reports directly to Daniel McHugh, the Chief Investment Officer, as part of his senior leadership team.

MacDonald-Brown's career began at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in 2000. Before joining Aviva Investors, she held the position of head of sustainable equities at Lombard Odier Investment Management. Her previous roles suggest a focus on equity funds and a specialization in sustainability and European markets.

In her new role at Aviva Investors, MacDonald-Brown specializes in sustainability, a key area of focus for the company. Daniel McHugh, the Chief Investment Officer, believes that her experience will help build a stronger and more focused active equities platform.

Matt Bennison, who spent 12 years at Schroders before joining Aviva Investors, has been appointed as the head of UK active equities. He managed various funds at Schroders, including the Schroder Prime UK Equity fund, Schroder Sustainable UK Equity fund, and the Schroder Income Growth Investment Trust.

In his new role, Bennison reports to Nicholette MacDonald-Brown. Daniel McHugh, the Chief Investment Officer, welcomed Bennison to the company and expressed his belief that his experience will contribute to the growth of Aviva Investors. According to McHugh, having a strong equities team is important for Aviva Investors' growth strategy.

McHugh stated that the new team members will help deliver long-term value for Aviva Investors' clients. He believes that their expertise in active strategies, particularly within the UK and European markets, will be instrumental in achieving this goal.

With these appointments, Aviva Investors continues to strengthen its global equities team, positioning itself for continued success in the asset management industry.
