Google has introduced a new feature, 'Featured Event Posts', for businesses in certain regions. This allows restaurants and bars to showcase their events more prominently on Google Search. To qualify, businesses must be single-location or independent establishments in the restaurant or bar category, primarily in English-speaking countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. Events can be pulled from social media platforms, not just directly posted to the Google Business Profile. Google is rolling out this feature gradually, starting with mobile and limited regions. To ensure an event post is featured, craft it like a mini schema snippet with a clear, well-phrased sentence. Importantly, the post must clearly state the days and times of the event. Currently, featured event posts only appear for branded queries and are not visible on Maps or desktop. The feature is still evolving, so businesses should stay updated for further developments.
