Google Unveils Gemini 2.5 Flash for Advanced Image Editing
Google has rolled out its Gemini 2.5 Flash engine to developers worldwide. The new model, accessible via Google AI Studio, Gemini API, and Vertex AI, is praised for its versatility in image editing and generation. CEO Sundar Pichai has endorsed the model, encouraging developers to explore its capabilities.
Gemini 2.5 Flash is primarily used for advanced image generation and editing applications. These include GIF animation (Bananimate), creative photo zooming (Enhance), virtual clothing try-on (Fit Check), 3D character posing (Cartwheel), real-time game content generation (Volley), and more. The model's infinite zoom feature allows AI-enhanced zoom into generated visuals, while its multi-image blending capability maintains consistency across combined visuals.
In Google's AI Studio, a new build mode has been introduced. This feature lets developers create entire AI-powered apps from a single prompt and export them directly to GitHub. Meanwhile, Nano Banana, a popular image creation tool, has been updated with wider aspect ratio support. It now accommodates landscape, square, portrait, and flexible formats, and even supports GIF creation for turning static images into dynamic animations.
With the rollout of Gemini 2.5 Flash and the new build mode in AI Studio, Google is empowering developers to create and share AI-powered applications more efficiently. The updates to Nano Banana further enhance its versatility, making it a powerful tool for creating dynamic and consistent visual content.
