Guide on Linking Wallet to Shiba Inu Network

The Shiba Inu development team has announced an update to the Shib.io platform, making it simpler for users to connect their preferred wallets and interact with the Shibarium network, The Shib Magazine, ShibaSwap, and other ecosystem components.

This update addresses the challenge of navigating between Shiba Inu assets on the Ethereum mainnet and the Shibarium Layer-2. To connect your wallet, you generally have two options: using a browser extension like MetaMask or connecting via a QR code through a wallet app that supports WalletConnect.

Using a browser extension (e.g., MetaMask):

  1. Add the Shibarium network manually to your wallet by inputting the following RPC details:
  2. Network Name: Shibarium
  3. RPC URL: https://chain.shibrpc.com/
  4. Chain ID: 109
  5. Currency Symbol: BONE
  6. Block Explorer URL: https://www.shibariumscan.io
  7. In MetaMask, open the network dropdown menu, select "Add Network," and fill in the above details.
  8. Once added, switch your wallet's network to Shibarium. Your wallet is then connected and can interact with Shib.io on Shibarium.

Using a QR code via WalletConnect or supported wallet apps:

  • Shib.io supports integration with over 15 major crypto wallets, including Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, MetaMask (mobile), Rainbow, and others.
  • On the Shib.io platform, you can select the WalletConnect option, which will display a QR code.
  • Open your mobile wallet app that supports WalletConnect, scan the QR code, and approve the connection.
  • This creates a secure link between your wallet and Shib.io without manually entering RPC data. It also enables seamless bridging between Ethereum and Shibarium networks via the upgraded Shiba Inu wallet ecosystem.

The Shiba Inu development team is working on getting Shibarium onboarded to other popular wallets. The list of supported wallets now includes MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Ledger, Trust Wallet, Rainbow, Phantom, OKX Wallet, Rabby Wallet, Token Pocket, Enkrypt, Gate.io Wallet, imToken, Bitget Wallet, Zerion, and SafePal Wallet.

The update eliminates the need for manual setups and complex configurations, making it easier for users to interact with both the Ethereum and Shibarium networks. The official website for the Shiba Inu ecosystem is website.io. The guide includes a video walkthrough and written instructions for connecting to the Shib.io platform.

ShadowHunter, the pseudonymous Shiba Inu Engineering Manager, described the update as a "huge step forward in enhancing the user experience." The recent update to the Shib.io platform marks a significant milestone in the continued development and expansion of the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

The Shib Magazine, a part of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, may feature articles discussing the recent update to the Shib.io platform, which simplifies wallet connection and interaction with the Shibarium network. This update enables users to easily bridge between the Ethereum and Shibarium networks.

Users who own Shiba Inu assets on both the Ethereum mainnet and Shibarium can now enjoy a smoother experience, as the Shiba Inu development team plans to onboard Shibarium to other popular wallets such as Ledger and Bitget Wallet.
