High-Speed Wireless Service: 250 Mbps at Your Disposal
Deutsche Telekom AG has announced a significant upgrade to the internet speeds in the town of Sohren, Germany. The new WLAN speed now stands at 250 Mbit/s, a considerable increase from the previous 10 Mbit/s upload and download speeds.
This enhancement is part of the company's ongoing network expansion, which began in August and September 2025. The upgrades extend to the city of Wittstock/Dosse as well, where speeds of up to 1,000 Mbit/s via a new fiber-optic (FTTH) network are now available.
Approximately 1,382 households in Sohren can now benefit from these faster internet connections, with an additional 621 households gaining access to the improved service. The company has installed new system technology in four gray boxes at the roadside in Sohren to facilitate this upgrade.
Julia della Peruta, spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom AG, stated that the increased bandwidth would provide smoother WLAN use at home, particularly beneficial for digital learning, working, streaming, and gaming.
The new speeds are available for booking online at www.telekom.de/faster, by phone through the provided numbers (0800 330 3000, 0800 330 1000, 0800 330 1300), or in stores.
