Honda Unveils First Full-Size Electric Naked Bike: The WN7

Honda has made a significant step forward in the electric motorcycle industry with the unveiling of its first full-size electric naked bike, the WN7. The WN7, which stands for "Be the Wind", Naked, and its output class, was first shown at EICMA 2024 in Milan.

The WN7 is designed to deliver an open-road buzz, despite its quiet operation, thanks to Honda's 75-plus years of motorcycle know-how. Honda claims that the WN7's performance matches that of a 600cc internal-combustion bike in terms of power, and its torque is comparable to that of 1000cc motorcycles.

One of the standout features of the WN7 is its rapid charging capabilities. Using the CCS2 charger standard, the WN7's fixed lithium-ion battery allows for a 30-minute charge from 20% to 80%. Full home charging for the WN7 takes under three hours.

The WN7 also boasts a 5-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity for smartphone integration, ensuring a modern and connected riding experience.

The production version of the WN7, previously shown as the "EV Fun Concept", retains the same slim, futuristic silhouette and fixed-battery layout. Honda expects the WN7 to become available starting early 2026, marking the first year of global expansion for its electric motorcycles.

Honda views the WN7 as just the beginning of a broader line-up of electric motorcycles, including commuters and fun machines. The company aims to make all its motorcycle products carbon-neutral by the 2040s, and the WN7, unlike traditional motorcycles, does not produce emissions.

In Europe, the WN7 model, an electric naked motorcycle with a fixed battery, is being introduced by Honda. This marks the company's first electric motorcycle for Europe, signifying a significant shift towards electric mobility in the continent.

The WN7's quiet operation, powerful performance, rapid charging capabilities, and modern features make it an exciting addition to the electric motorcycle market. As Honda continues to expand its electric motorcycle line-up, the WN7 is sure to attract a new generation of riders who are looking for a sustainable and exhilarating riding experience.
