In the heart of LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, the newly unveiled Woodland Village has become a popular destination, boasting a unique entertainment and hospitality space – The Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar. At the forefront of delivering an exceptional auditory experience is a state-of-the-art immersive audio system, designed and installed by EM Acoustics and DS Audio.
The sound design for The Clubhouse was meticulously planned, with the space divided into four audio zones. The bar and open entertainment area, known as Zone 1, is equipped with high-quality loudspeakers from EM Acoustics, ensuring clear and immersive sound for visitors. A small stage in this zone is reinforced with a single EMS-61 loudspeaker for stage foldback monitoring.
The remaining zones 2-4 are equipped with 48 EMS-41 loudspeakers and three S-48 subwoofers, providing an immersive audio system that seamlessly transitions throughout the space. The small stage area in Zone 1 is also equipped with a pair of EMS-81Xs and an S-48 subwoofer.
The control and routing infrastructure is built on the Q-SYS platform, a powerful networked audio, video, and control system. This infrastructure allows for scalable, centralized audio processing, routing, and control with ease, supporting multiple zones and audio sources to tailor the audio experience dynamically during various events and hours of operation.
An Allen and Heath mixing console and Sennheiser EWDx head-worn and handheld mics provide equipment for hosting performances at The Clubhouse. The sound system is fully integrated into LEGOLAND Windsor Resort's existing Resort-wide Q-SYS ecosystem, ensuring seamless audio delivery across the entire venue.
The accuracy of EM Acoustics loudspeakers in reproducing sounds has been key to the project's success, particularly in creating a natural British woodland sound. The system provides immersive background audio and sound reinforcement for onstage performances at The Clubhouse. It is also capable of delivering audio for nightly entertainment and larger events should they be required.
