Hyundai N Unveils RN24 Concept: A 641-HP EV Rally Car
Hyundai N has unveiled the RN24 concept, a thrilling blend of the Ioniq 5 N's powertrain and a rally car chassis. This sneak peek showcases potential technologies for future N EVs.
The RN24's powertrain is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, borrowed from the Ioniq 5 N, generating a formidable 641 hp. Hyundai N has developed a Rally Mode for this electronic powertrain, distributing torque to all four wheels for enhanced grip and agility.
The concept's subcompact chassis is inspired by Hyundai's World Rally Championship cars, providing a solid foundation for its rally aspirations. This chassis is approximately 13.4 inches shorter than the Ioniq 5 N, requiring a redesign of the battery pack to fit.
Other potential production technologies on the RN24 include an electronic handbrake and an enhanced sound system. The latter is further amplified by the concept's rear fenders acting as a soundbox, ensuring an immersive auditory experience for both occupants and onlookers.
The RN24 concept previews Hyundai N's future EV rally capabilities. With its powerful powertrain, agile chassis, and innovative sound system, it sets the stage for exciting developments in the world of electric rally cars.
